What they say about us

The experiences of those who have chosen us are worth more than a thousand words.

On this page, we have collected every story, every step forward, and every milestone achieved:
read our patients’ reviews and find out how we helped them cope with Parkinson’s and get their lives back on track.

  • Highly recommend

I highly recommend the European Parkinson Therapy Center located in Northern Italy, in the spa town of Boario Terme, in a scenic valley of the lake region, at the foot of the Alps.
Classes were small, 3 to 4 patients plus spouses in attendance, conducted in English, animated by a positive and friendly staff of 7-8 young Italians. One of us was a repeat from last year.
For each of 6 mornings, in a well-equipped fitness room, I performed 1.5 hour of demanding physical exercises under the watchful eye of the same personal trainer; in the afternoon, we attended 1-2 hours of presentations, one group exercise in meditation and personal counseling in goal setting. Spouses opt for a separate interview.
Physical tests of gait and balance were performed on days #1 and #6, to motivate us toward continued practice by showing progress after only a few days.
As a non-profit, it cost less than $800 for 6 days (2 weeks sessions are also available). Additional sessions in psychology and/or neurology counseling and/or massage can be arranged for an extra fee. You can choose your hotel but the Rizzi Aquacharme accross the street is a no brainer at a discounted price + 3 gourmet meals per day plus a 2hr daily access to an indoor spa.

  • I urge every Parkinson patient to follow this program at least once a year!

    Dear Director
I am sending you my heartfelt thanks for the beneficial effects that the intensive 1 week program I followed at the European Parkinson Therapy Centre you admininister had on me, both physically as well as mentally. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease over 15 years ago.

My personal physiotherapist Daniele was able and patient with me – I improved my walking abilities and the back pain I used to suffer each morning disappeared. I opted for the services of a speech therapist and Dr Giacomo Michele Spada was excellent in helping me improve my speech and voice. My nutritionist Dr Paola Guizzardi helped me in producing a good tmetable of nutrition based on the times of my medications intake.
All in all, helped by the fact that i was given a report and a USB with exercises to perform daily helped me to continue the progress achieved.
I urge every Parkinson patient to follow this program at least once a year. I would also like to thank Dr Alex Reed for his excellent presentations and overall directorship of the program. Praise also goes to the receptionist Ms Sara for making the experience unforgettable. Thank you all!

  • With deepest gratitude

Dear Dr. Reed, Pietro, Sara and the rest of the amazing team at ReGen.

This will not be the first time you have heard from grateful people singing praises of your wonderful program. Your empathy builds the therapeutic relationship that makes this program so successful. Each well thought out approach in the program and the expertise that the excellent team brings is unique. My father has done so much better this week – he was falling 2-3 times a day. He has not fallen this entire week.

Sara – you are just so king and helpful – thank you.
Pietro – words are insufficient to express all you have done for “Rao” – thank you and hope you keep dancing to Jai Ho!
Alex – you are inspiring – wishing you every success as you continue to make lemonade out of any Lemons presented!
There are so many more team members we would like to thank individually – all of you are outstanding and doing such important work.

    With deepest gratitude,

    ― The Gulur family

  • I would recommend it to anyone suffering from Parkinson’s.

5 star rating from me.i was there last April for a week and found it so beneficial that next year I am booked to go back this time for 2 weeks. The therapists are so professional and encouraging. I would recommend it to anyone suffering from Parkinson’s.

  • Many treatments , one location

The centre is a very professionally run organisation where many treatments for Parkinsons are offered all in one place, in a uniquely warm and therapeutic environment. There are also talks, groups and support for both PwPs and their families/partners. It gave me time and space and tools to deal with Parkinsons that I felt were sorely lacking back home. I stayed on an extra week as I found it so helpful.

  • A truly wonderful place

A truly wonderful place. The staff are fantastic, and the work done there is brilliant and inspirational.

  • Friendly and professional

I have just attended a 1 week program and it exceeded my expectations hence I give it a 5 star rating. The programmes are based on proven science with neuroplasticity and neuro protection at their centre. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and professional and make the experience fun . Key to success of the centre is the one-to-one relationship between delegate and therapist for the duration of the program. Once you have undergone the course continuing support is provided. I will definitely be back and that says it all.

  • My Parkinson Story

    My Parkinson Story
My situation: 70 years old, 8 years since my diagnosis with PD. My first neurologist told me the key to slowing progression was ‘exercise, exercise, exercise’. This I was able to do with positive results but over the past year I struggled and felt I was ‘falling apart’ physically and mentally; whatever I tried did not work.             I realised that I needed help and so booked to visit the European Parkinson’s Centre. Realistically I was just hoping to regain a little flexibility and strength to enable me to exercise more fully. After 2 weeks at the Regen Centre working with the wonderfully caring and expert team there, I can hardly believe the improvement in my fitness, mind-set, positivity, confidence and motivation. I feel that I am ‘me’ again.  To misquote Dante – Regain hope all ye who enter here, I certainly did. My eternal thanks to Alex Reed for having the vision, drive and determination to set up the Centre and to everyone who works so hard to deliver such a beneficial and personalised programme. But it was not just about me; it was life affirming to see how other people attending the Centre, some quite severely limited by the disease, improved markedly.

An added bonus is that the Centre is in such a beautiful part of Italy.

  • You keep your promises

I am writing now ,on behalf of Yiota as well, to tell you how complete, personalized , holistic and scientifically up to date was your program. You keep your promises on what you write down on your information brochure. And also, beside all treatments ,we must express are deep thanks for the human, sincere and sponaneous approach of all scientific personnel. In particular, Yiota wants to express her thanks to Greta, who helped her a lot physically of course, but also psycologically. And all specialists that we saw were experts on their field and afronted ,in a personilised manner, such a difficult disease which is Parkinson. And, in particular, we what to thank you and Laura, who were always there to solve all our ,even, small problems. Please transmet our congratulations to Alexander and eventually to other directors for this unique, holistic centre for Parkinsons that have created.

  • You will get much much more than you can imagine

I was in center for the 1st time this March. I was diagnosed for Parkinson a bit more than 2 y ago, few days after 50. Rather akward present for 50 bday, but it comes into my life and I need to live with mr. P. In my home country you get pils, basic info and then you are more or less left alone after the diagnose. Which is damm hard. You are new in this sh…. Situation, you have million questions, you need to find the way to a new world, … hard like nothing else until that moment. That why I start looking for something which would help me and what I can afford. Found an article and sign in. Thank god, the experience was gr8. Professionals with knowledge and empathy, with answers and new hope. With warm word and warm smile. They prepare you for living, to add practice to your life, to fight with hard days, and more. Alex and the team, grazzie mille. My colleagues, check the program, find the slot and sign in, you will get much much more than you can imagine. In my opinion, every newly diagnosed person hould get a week in Darfo. I will be back! Ciao Darfo ammici,

    love you all. Anton

  • Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. ♥️

A warm hello to Roberta, Laura, Alex, Daniele, and all the other wonderful people at the Regen Center!
I’m sorry to be so delayed in responding to your request for feedback to the program, but I have been very busy implementing the lessons that I learned during my week there, and simply getting on with the business of living, that I seem to have very few spare moments! Please feel free to use my comments on your website or other materials. 😘
I learned of your center several months after having been diagnosed, feeling like a bomb exploded in the middle of my life and wondering what the future would hold for me. I (like many others), I had been told by my neurologist that I had Parkinson’s and to take some pills and come back in six months with very little additional guidance or support offered .
This did not feel right to me, so I began my search for resources that could help me figure out a better path forward, one that took into account the psychological aspects as well as the non-pharmaceutical options available to me such as diet and exercise.
What I found of the center was a group of extremely dedicated professionals who seemed entirely focused on helping me with this task. From Dr. Silvia who validated my feelings of grief about my diagnosis, but also assured me that I had I have the power to choose to be an active participant in my own life and disease management, to Daniele who patiently but firmly and with a good sense of humor pushed me to understand that I could work outside of what I thought my physical limits were in order to see improvements in my motor symptoms, to Roberta and Laura, who coordinated all aspects of our days in a friendly and always helpful manner, to Alex the founder who serves as an inspiration an example to all of us “Parkies” of how to live well despite our limitations.
I include my fellow patients in my praise, with whom I found camaraderie and encouragement and shared goals. Everyone involved is an integral piece of the puzzle of learning to live with Parkinson’s and viewing it less like a disease and more of a chronic condition that can be managed.
I feel very lucky that I found the center when I did because I feel that it has set me on the right path at the right time. It is truly a place where you can begin to understand that well the path may be challenging, you can be heard and encouraged. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. ♥️
    Suzanne
P.S.I look forward to returning again next year to celebrate my progress.

  • Every smile is a hope that leaves the way open to trust because you are helping us “Color our Life”

Hello to all the ReGen staff, it’s only been three days since we parted ways, and I must confess that I miss you all so much, especially Marta, my warrior against Parkinson’s, but also Agata, Caterina, Loredana, Giacomo, Luisa, Sara, and all the other people I haven’t met personally but who are undoubtedly protagonists in this treacherous and insidious “battle,” and who knows, sooner or later, we’ll be able to defeat it forever. Thank you, Alex, for creating such a unique facility, where everyone, including me, felt part of a big family. This is also thanks to the patients I met during the week, all confident of returning home with a little more certainty, and physically better. I watched Alex’s video testimony, which was at times touching, at others unusually astounding. There was no shortage of smiles, and for someone who is a protagonist and knows what Parkinson’s means, that means a lot. Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity you are giving to more and more people. Every smile is a hope that leaves the path open to trust because you are helping us “Color our Lives.” Hugs.

  • The optimism that stemmed from serious scientific studies and concrete experiences.

As for my experience at the Parkinson Therapy Center, I must say that from the first impact I was struck by the relaxed and serene climate of the center.

  • A fabulous week

I left home forgetting the antidepressant, I was so busy and busy with the activities of the center that I didn’t feel the need for it; now, from the return I don’t use it then we’ll see!

  • I found myself in a serene and smiling environment …

When, three days after a terrible fright, I noticed that I had a slight tremor in my left hand, I thought that, with age, I was no longer able to control my emotions and I took some Valerian.

  • 4 friends of Mister Parkinson

I arrived at the Center, fortunately, not … “biased”, in the sense that, being still at a fairly early stage of this “new” condition, I did not go to the meeting in the company of someone, in particular, of the “4 friends” “By Mr. Parkinson … but certainly, I cannot deny it, of their suffused and latent presence, that yes!
